OBJECTIVE

To plan and set policies and directions for the development and enhancement of the mineral and geoscience sector. |
|
|
To ensure that policies and legislations related to the development of minerals and geoscience is constantly relevant and contributes to the development of the industry and economy progress and is implemented in an environmentally friendly manner. |
FUNCTION
|
|
To formulate and legislates policy, laws, regulations and development programmes of minerals and geosciences sector; |
|
|
To plan, determine way forward and prepare short and long terms strategic plan for minerals and geosciences sector; |
|
|
To collect and promote data and information for planning and developing minerals and geosciences sector; |
|
|
To monitor, coordinate and evaluate execution of policy, programme, laws, regulations and service and doing value adding continuously for minerals and geosciences sector; |
|
|
To process the application and produce export permit for minerals and ores of all kinds; |
|
|
To establish multilateral/bilateral relationship and safe guard the nations interest at international level for minerals and geosciences sector |
|
|
To operate management and financial activities to support Division’s functions |
|
|
|
|
|

To prepare a cabinet paper for the approval of the Ministry’s top level management within two (2) weeks; |
|
|
To prepare feedback/response/comments on decisions of cabinet meeting’s for the approval of the Ministry’s top level management within three (3) working days; |
|
|
To verify and forward Cabinet Papers from DMG for approval One Stop Centre (OSC) meeting within three (3) working days; |
|
|
To prepare paper work related to policy issues of minerals and geosciences sector within two (2) weeks; |
|
|
To prepare special reports on specific issues related to minerals and geosciences within five (5) working days; |
|
|
To prepare comments, inputs or feedbacks on memorandum/ ikhtisar note/ cabinet paper related to minerals and geosciences issues as requested by other ministries and international organisation within three (3) working days; |
|
|
To issue Export Permit (AP) for minerals and ores of all kinds after 5 working days upon receiving complete application; |
|
|
To prepare answer for oral / written questions of House of Representative and The Senate for Divisions of Administration and Financial further actions within three (3) working days; |
|
|
To prepare comments on DMG programme application for ministry approval within two (2) working days; |
|
|
To prepare minutes of meeting within three (3) working days after a meeting. |
